Information OtterPage Handles
OtterPage handles information only as needed to provide screenshot capture, editing, privacy tools,
branding, and export features.
Screenshot and page content
When you start a capture, OtterPage reads visible page content and captures screenshot tiles from the
active tab so it can stitch the full-page image.
Page metadata
OtterPage may use the page title, URL, dimensions, and capture time to label the capture, generate
filenames, or show context in the editor.
Extension settings
OtterPage stores preferences such as export format, image quality, brand-kit choices, custom stamps,
and local Pro status.
User-provided content
If you use Pro features, OtterPage may handle bulk URLs, uploaded logos, watermark text, annotations,
redactions, and other edits you choose to add.
How OtterPage Uses Information
OtterPage uses handled information to provide user-facing product features, including:
- capturing full-page screenshots, selected elements, or bulk URLs;
- stitching image tiles into one screenshot;
- showing a local preview and editor;
- applying annotations, blur, redaction, spotlight, frames, branding, and watermarks;
- exporting PNG, JPG, PDF, clipboard copies, and ZIP files when you request them;
- remembering settings you choose for future captures.
Local Processing and Storage
Screenshot capture and editing happen in the extension and your browser. Captured tiles are kept in
extension memory long enough to build the result page. Exports are generated locally, then downloaded,
copied, or otherwise handled only when you choose an export action.
Some preferences are stored using Chrome storage APIs. Depending on the setting, Chrome may store that
information locally on your device or sync it through the Google account you use with Chrome.
Sharing and Sale of Data
OtterPage does not sell your personal information, screenshot content, browsing history, or page content.
OtterPage does not send screenshot content to advertising networks and does not use screenshot content to
build advertising profiles.
Information leaves your browser only when you choose to export, download, copy, upload, or otherwise
share it, or when a payment/licensing provider is used to process an upgrade you request.
Chrome Permissions
OtterPage requests Chrome permissions so the extension can provide its single purpose: capturing and
preparing screenshots.
- activeTab, tabs, and host permissions: used to identify and capture pages you choose
to capture.
- scripting: used to run the capture helper on the active page so OtterPage can scroll,
measure, and capture the page accurately.
- storage: used to remember settings, brand-kit preferences, custom stamps, and local
Pro status.
- context menus: used to expose optional Pro workflows from the extension action menu.
Limited Use Disclosure
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy,
including the Limited Use requirements.
